Frontiers in Genetics’ PhD program starts every year in October and usually lasts 4 years. During the first year, the students are requested to complete 3 rotations in different laboratories of the network. In addition, they must attend a course entitled Frontiers in Molecular Genetics. The students are then submitted to a qualifying exam before being enrolled into the PhD thesis project.

  Tentative schedule

Please find below a typical schedule.
  • Beginning of October: students visit each of the members’ labs.
  • October: the student defines the rotation plan in agreement with the Committee.
  • December-April: individual meetings between the students and the Committee to define subsequent rotations and course plans.
  • April-May: each student chooses a research supervisor, following mutual agreement. In addition, he/she selects 2 additional faculty members to serve as advisors. Each student proposes a topic to develop for his qualifying exam.
